TARGET / PUBLIC

This three-day training is targeted at scientists and researchers who communicate their knowledge and scientific results to journalists, the media and the public. The aim is to provide the necessary skills to deal with the media and to report on their research in a comprehensible manner. The overall objective is to improve and foster the relationship and cooperation between journalists and researchers.

PRESENTATION AND CONTENT OF THE TRAINING

Practical assignments in small groups which are supervised by experienced journalists form an essential part of this training. Video training and written exercises assist the participants in analysing their own performances. Furthermore, researchers and scientists learn how to deal with and prepare for interviews.
Attention is placed on showing the purpose of relations with the media, how good media relations can benefit researchers and the objectives of journalists when interviewing.
