Overview

The STREAM project brings together a team of highly-experienced organisations playing key roles in the field of environmental technology and dissemination of European research.

The STREAM project is based on the cooperation of partners with very diverse and yet fully complementary competences. The action stands at the crossroad of identification of the state of the art, communication, dissemination towards the scientific community, training, policy and research.

The joint know-how of partners brings to the project the necessary expertise and experience in ensuring that the project will be well managed and directed to the achievement of the planned objectives.

ROLE in STREAM: coordinator - lead partner of WP1, WP6 and WP7

MINERVA Consulting & Communication is a Belgian PR agency established at the beginning of 1998 and specialised in the management and execution of communication and dissemination activities within European research related projects for the EU Programmes.

The main areas of competence are: Media campaigns and press relations; Events, workshops and seminars organisation; Graphic design; Communication; Internet sites development; Consultancy in European projects in the communication sector; Training modules; Impact assessment.

The company has already produced several information tools in order to support the results and make the communication be valuable, effective and appropriate, in various European projects such as: best practices booklets online and paper based, videos and films on the research results, web conferences, training modules to facilitate application of the results and further development and implementation activities and tools.

Minerva is currently partner or coordinator in several other EC funded projects: SET-DEV (Science, Ethics, and Technological Responsibility in Developing and Emerging Countries);
CHAARM (Combined Highly Active Anti-retroviral Microbicides); EnRiMa (Energy Efficiency and Risk Management in Public Buildings); RELATE: REsearch LAbs for TEaching Journalists; MAITRE – (Media Actions for International Training of Researchers).

ROLE in STREAM: partner - lead partner of WP5
Headquartered in London, EFB is specifically focused in Innovation Management, providing support services to private and public organisations in Product and Process Innovation, Technology Transfer, IT solutions and support for research and development projects.

EFB is made up of a pool of professional engineers with consolidated experience in international working environments (Europe, Latin America and USA) and Grant Advisors specialised in consultancy services for grants submission and negotiation, project management, and dissemination actions.

These skills are backed by additional research capability and an experienced administrative infrastructure. In the recent years EFB has taken in charge the dissemination activities of several EU funded projects thus boosting the communication impact of research activities in several fields.

Set up in 2007, EFB is a high-growth knowledge intensive company, doubling its turnover each year and expanding its operation in the whole Europe. The growth of EFB can be explained by the innovative and specific services that the company offers, by supporting Industrial and Research organisations in defining and implementing their innovation and research strategies, through the usage of advanced methodologies and ICT solutions oriented. Moreover, thanks to its multidisciplinary expertise, EFB has developed a specific expertise in setting up complex international technology transfer consortium and networks.

EWP - The European Water Partnership

The European Water Partnership (EWP) is an independent value based non-profit organisation structured as an open and inclusive member association. Based in Brussels, the EWP harnesses European capacity, helps to coordinate initiatives and activities in international water issues and undertakes worldwide promotion of European expertise and technology related to water.

The ultimate goal of the EWP is to elaborate strategies and implement concrete actions to achieve the objectives of the Water Vision for Europe. The activities of the European Water Partnership are divided in four main Programmes, underpinned by the Water Vision for Europe.

1) European Water Awareness Programme: creates a water saving and water efficient culture in Europe among private, industrial, business and agricultural users and supports the shift from supply to demand management through information, education, training, supporting changing behaviour and practices.

2) European Water Stewardship Programme: providing responsible water users with a tool to communicate and award Sustainable Water Management (SWM) and thereby creating positive incentives for best water governance.

3) European Water House: a physical location Brussels embodying the Principles of the Water Vision for Europe to demonstrate that the construction of our sustainable future starts concretely today.

4) European Dialogue on Climate Change Adaptation and Water: Setting up a stronger European cooperation and coordination on Climate Change and Water. Apart from these activities, the EWP will coordinate from 2010 onwards the Europe Innova project INNOWATER, focusing on facilitating the implementation of innovative water technologies.
Apart from these four programmes, the EWP also participates in three EU projects

INNOWATER (coordinator) – facilitating the market access of innovative water technologies;
DESIRAS (coordinator) – testing an innovative technology to reduce water consumption in irrigation, combating desertification;
STREAM (beneficiary);

Menon network:

Created out of a successful Esprit project in 1999 as a non-for-profit EEIG (European Economic Interest Group) in Brussels, MENON has been working in the last 12 years to provide information, evaluation, consultancy and development support to policy makers, industry and society at large on issues related to learning, and how learning is linked to organizational and social developments in Europe and worldwide.

The mission of MENON is to facilitate the evolution of the Knowledge Society in Europe and in other parts of the world, making learning a priority issue in policy agendas around economic, social and cultural development at both national and international level.

The MENON Network is active both at national level, through its members, and at transnational level, where the EEIG coordinates co-funded projects, and is active in other collaboration and support work for the European Commission and international organisations.

In twelve years of activities, MENON has been successfully coordinating more than 20 research projects, being in charge of management, research coordination, dissemination, European and international networking, sustainability building. All these projects have produced tangible results and have had an impact on selected target users.

MENON has been the initiator of a number of successful sustainable initiatives transforming research and pilot projects into long-term oriented ventures. In the field of e-learning quality, MENON has contributed to the creation of EFQUEL, the European Foundation for Quality in e-learning (www.qualityfoundation.org), a stable and broad network active as a forum for research and exchange of practices and visions in the field of learning quality.
