Dr. Giulia Recchia is Researcher in Prehistory and Protohistory at the University of Foggia since 2005.
She got her PhD in Prehistory and Protohistory at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 1998. She is member of the Italian Archaeological Mission in Malta and of the Istituto Italiano di Preistoria e Protostoria.
She had a leading role in several archaeological excavations of Late Prehistoric sites in southern Italy since 1997. Currently she holds a co-director position in the excavations of the Tas-Silg megalithic sanctuary (Malta) as regards the prehistoric phases, the fortified Bronze-Age settlement of Coppa Nevigata (FG) and the Oratino - La Rocca Bronze Age settlement (CB).
Her research interests are focussed on Mediterranean prehistory, prehistoric pottery function and spatial analysis of late prehistoric sites.
She was author of more than 100 publications and contributions to international conferences.
